High School Online
Hope Christian School’s Online school offers teacher-taught Alberta Education accredited courses that have been specifically developed to express a Christian world view in English, Social Studies, Science, Biology and CALM 20.
Through our online school students have the opportunity to earn an Alberta Education Diploma, without ever having to enter a regular classroom.
Class Formats
Core courses are offered as synchronous classes for our full-time students (primary) where students attend class via Zoom, meet classmates, listen to direct instruction from a teacher, and learn about assignment expectations.
All live classes are recorded. Students may access class recordings throughout the semester to catch up on missed classes or review material.
Courses for part-time (non-primary) students are instructed asynchronously where students learn on their own schedule by reading online material and watching recorded lectures. Teachers are available for assistance and to answer questions pertaining to the learning material.
The asynchronous program requires students to be self-motivated and committed. Although deadlines are semi-fluid, we do still expect students to finish the courses within the given semester.
Primary Students
Primary students take the majority of their classes through Hope Christian School.
International, out of province and adult students are considered primary students regardless of their course load.
Non-Primary Students
Non-primary students take the majority of their classes through another school.
Non-primary students are limited to taking two courses with Hope Christian School, and may only register with one other school board.
